About the IAPP

Veronika Rozmahelova is a distinguished expert in the field of data protection and privacy, recognized as a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP). With extensive experience across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, she has led and implemented robust data protection programs across countries and industries.

Currently serving as the Group Data Protection Officer for Bank ABC headquartered in Bahrain, where she leads international team and implementation of data protection frameworks across multiple jurisdictions (i.e., Europe, MENA, Asia, and Americas). Her career includes a pivotal role at Instagram (Meta), where she advised strategic programming in compliance with GDPR, leading public policy campaigns across EMEA. She also managed data protection assurance projects for PwC across the Middle East, guiding top corporations and (semi-)governmental institutions in achieving compliance with data protection laws.

Veronika has also advised federal government of Liberia and municipal government of Buenos Aires. For Buenos Aires, she developed a digital transformation strategy for municipal services.

With a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Public Policy from Columbia University in the City of New York, Veronika combines her academic insights with practical experience to drive data protection initiatives.

Her contributions have been recognized through roles such as Director of Alumni Engagement for Columbia Alumni Association UAE and now as (first) Chair of the IAPP Bahrain KnowledgeNet Chapter.

Veronika’s commitment to data protection and privacy, along with her leadership in diverse international settings, underscores her as a leading figure in the field.
