About the IAPP

Anselmo is a senior consultant at Dionach Ltd, with vast experience in auditing and risk management in the areas of data protection and information security. He assesses the privacy and security posture of clients from diverse sectors, including finance, critical national infrastructure (CNI), healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, retail and digital services, inter alia.

Anselmo has supported many organisations in mapping, implementing and maintaining a framework for compliance and in achieving higher levels of maturity (both in terms of design and operation effectiveness), oftentimes at the confluence of privacy, security and safety.

Typical tasks encompass conducting gap analyses, Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), provision of cyber and privacy training, architecture design and implementation, effective cloud migration, algorithmic impact assessments, mapping of requirements drawing from ISO/IEC, NIST, CIS benchmarks, and OWASP.

Thorough and methodical, he has an eclectic array of interests, reflected in the certifications he holds:

- Data protection: CIPP/E, CIPT, CIPM, FIP, CDPSE.
- Information security: CISSP, SSCP, PCI DSS QSA, ISO/IEC
27001 Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer, CISA, CASP+, SWIFT Smart.

As a keen learner, Anselmo holds several bachelors and MScs with The Open University, The Royal Holloway, Edinburgh Napier, and University of Strathclyde.

Anselmo also works in academia, as an associate lecturer at The Open University, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, acting as critical reader for several modules. On a personal level, he is an avid reader, who likes travelling and board gaming.
