About the IAPP

Aveen Sufi is the Manager of the Enterprise Privacy Program at Dexcom, a global medical device company and leader in real-time continuous glucose monitoring. In her role, Aveen is responsible for leading a global privacy team and was instrumental in building Dexcom’s privacy program and communication and training strategy. Aveen is the AI Governance Chairwoman at Dexcom and is responsible for operationalizing AI Governance across the organization. In her privacy career Aveen has worked in information security, global architecture, and the legal domains across both the private and government sectors, spanning the healthcare and manufacturing industries.

She is an active member of the IAPP, a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), member of the IAPP Diversity in Privacy Advisory Board, and on the team that created and drafted the AI Governance practice exam questions.

Aveen has spoken on multiple panels leading discussions on privacy audits and Generative AI.

Sufi holds a master’s degree in Health Informatics, a law degree in Privacy Law & Cybersecurity, and master’s certificate in Health Information Privacy and Security.
