About the IAPP

Skanda is the Program Director at Australian Energy Regulator (AER) where he oversees Data and Digital transformation program to help AER support and accelerate energy industry transition in Australia. Prior to this, Skanda held the position of Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) at Healthscope where he led an information privacy transformation program to address regulatory compliance concerns and support broader digitalisation initiatives. The program set up a Group Privacy Office and a network of information privacy stewards at 42 hospitals, in a hub-and-spoke configuration to instil a privacy-by-design culture into the information processes. He has also held various senior positions in the financial industry, specialising in data-driven risk management across several risk domains, including privacy, security, and digital risks.
