About the IAPP

Marco is a technology lawyer specializing in artificial intelligence, data privacy and data management.

He is one of the world's leading experts in the e-commerce and Internet of Things sector in China. Since 2007 he has been providing legal assistance to companies in their investments to and from China. Since 2020 he specializes in assisting companies on a global scale on issues related to the management, exchange and international transfer of data.

Marco is a member of the IAPP and holds AIGP, CIPP/E and CIPM certifications and is accredited Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP). He is part of the United Nations UN/Cefact pool of experts on data privacy and data governance. Marco is also a book author, (East-Commerce), the first book on the world of e-commerce and the Internet of Things in China. He is a guest writer for European and Asian magazines, and a keynote speaker at international conferences on technology, and for Ted and Tedx in Shanghai.

Before founding Red Synergy, he worked with Clifford Chance's Capital Markets team. He graduated in law and oriental languages from the State University of Milan and Fudan in Shanghai and obtained an executive degree in Exponential Technologies from the Singularity University in Mountain View, California. Marco lives in Milan.
