Markus Sullivan is a seasoned professional known for his expertise in information security, legal matters, and a current focus on privacy and data protection. His career is dedicated to developing, guiding, and implementing complex worldwide strategies across various sectors, ensuring compliance with evolving technical and legal standards while aligning with business objectives.

At GLS, Markus works as Corporate Data Protection Manager, further developing the group-wide data protection framework as well as guiding and supporting local Data Protection Managers in different countries.

In his concurrent role as Group Data Protection Officer at a leading European capital management firm, Markus worked closely with his team to enhance the scalability and effectiveness of privacy and data protection frameworks.

Previously, his roles as an attorney, data protection officer, and information security advisor in the IT, automotive, and financial sectors involved him in overseeing and managing rapid changes in technology and legal solutions. His expertise covers a broad spectrum of legal areas, including competition, corporate, IP, tender laws. He is particularly proud of his work on projects like developing international legal data protection strategies for global parking payment solutions at the intersection of financial services, public law, and sensitive movement data.

His academic background in law, supplemented by studies in social sciences, English, and computer science, has been crucial in his professional journey. This, along with his ongoing commitment to learning and sharing knowledge, equips Markus to provide a holistic perspective in addressing the complex interplay between regulations, technology, and people.
