About the IAPP

Dr. Pragati Rawat has a PhD in Public Policy, an MBA, and a BS in Engineering Technology. She has more than twenty years of work experience in engineering and technology multinationals and in government consulting. She has worked in data privacy and security compliance and other regulatory compliance, in private as well as government sectors. She was the manager for policies and processes in the Unique Identification (UID) program of the Government of India that created world’s largest biometric database of residents for effective service delivery and financial inclusion. She was also an Assistant Professor in a US State University and taught public policy and research methods.

She has published a book, journal articles, and book chapters in peer reviewed outlets, has reviewed manuscripts for reputed journals, and has presented her work in international conferences. Her first publication was one of the Politics & Policy’s top 20 most downloaded paper in 2017.
