Research Professor

Dr. Ellie Graeden designs and builds data and modeling products to solve challenging problems at the intersection of policy, science, and operations. She thrives in the ambiguity of developing products that make data useful for human decision making, particularly those that require the engineering implementation of robust data and AI governance systems. Ellie and her teams have designed and built more than 20 products used globally by the UN and WHO; FEMA, CDC, and the White House; and for practical operations in emergency management, public health, AI governance, and global business strategy. Her most recent work is focused on water sustainability, developing ML/AI tools for utilities and physical infrastructure companies to improve resource management. She has founded and run multiple companies and is most recently the Chief Data and Product Officer at Metron while maintaining a research faculty position at the Georgetown University Massive Data Institute. She earned her PhD from MIT.
