About the IAPP

Priya has over 20 years’ experience in healthcare delivery primarily focused around the adoption of technology to enhance customer experience and optimize commercial growth. 

Since 2019 initially as Products director and later as Director Risk & Privacy, CarePay she has been shaping CarePay products, platform and operational strategies infusing Privacy-by-design and Risk awareness within the organizations culture. Prior to 2019 as Regional Operations Director she was involved in setting up and scaling CarePay’s Operations in both Kenya and Nigeria.

In February 2022 she was awarded Top 25 Women Leaders in Financial Technology by the Financial Technology Report. Later that year she was instrumental in the formation of Kenya's first data privacy community, Kenya Privacy Professionals Association where she currently is the vice chair. As co-chair, IAPP Kenya Chapter, she hopes to contribute towards developing a supportive environment for Data protection officers in Kenya.   

Priya is Certified in Information Privacy Management (CIPM). She has a Post graduate diploma in prescribing sciences from The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, and a degree in Pharmacy from Liverpool John Moore’s University, UK.
