About the IAPP

Bianca-Ioana Marcu is Deputy Director for Global Privacy at the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF), where she advances thought leadership on data protection, privacy, and AI regulation from a global perspective, working across the EU, Asia Pacific and Africa teams. Prior to joining FPF, Bianca was the Managing Director of the Computers, Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP) Conference, and Researcher in Law at the Law, Science and Technology (LSTS) Research Group at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Bianca also held roles in advocacy and gender justice and supported the work of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. She holds an LLM in International Law, Globalisation and Human Rights from Maastricht University, and a Data Protection Officer certification from the European Centre on Privacy and Cybersecurity.
