About the IAPP

Jen Rees-Jones is a Senior Manager in the Privacy and Cybersecurity group at Dentons. She helps clients comply with current and forthcoming privacy obligations, including conducting privacy assessments and advising on controls and mitigation plans. She also manages large privacy projects including privacy audits and data mapping.

Prior to serving private sector clients, Jen was a senior advisor for Canada’s privacy regulators. While at the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, Jen worked as a Senior Policy Advisor providing feedback on law reform and smart city proposals. Jen co-authored formal submissions in response to a government consultation on privacy law reform, gaining deep familiarity with new requirements currently proposed under Canada's Bill C-27 (PIPEDA reform bill).

Jen also worked as a Senior Advisor at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, investigating large Canadian companies and multinationals, and leading proactive compliance activities with participation from privacy regulators around the world.

Jen has received her Canadian CIPP/C and CIPP/E certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
