About the IAPP

IAPP Fellow of Information Privacy, CIPM, CIPP/US/G/C/E, CIPT - the President and Founder of Privacy Ref, is a seasoned privacy professional with more than 30 years of experience in the development of privacy policies and procedures; defining performance metrics to evaluate privacy maturity; and evaluating compliance with privacy laws, regulations, and policies.

From the time he was an applications developer, Bob has worked with computer applications and business practices involving personal information. These systems required easy access to personal information while simultaneously demanded the information be protected. In addition to developing these systems, Bob trained employees to use them properly and efficiently. As the collection of personal information has increased, he has developed new approaches to help his clients protect their sensitive data, both electronic and paper based.

Recognized as a Fellow of Information Privacy by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Bob is currently a training faculty member, having trained more than 7,000 professionals; he has also been a member of the Association’s advisory boards. Bob contributed to the creation of the IAPP’s Privacy Program Management and European Data Protection classes as a subject matter expert.

Bob is also an accomplished program manager, with a proven track record in business planning, information privacy, sales and customer support, application development, and product management, with extensive experience converting strategic plans into programs with well-defined, measurable outcomes.
