About the IAPP

Timothy Sesler works in the Office of General Counsel as Lead Counsel, Privacy & Data Security, for Auto Club Enterprises (ACE), a AAA federation motor club and membership organization. AAA operates nationwide as a federation of independently operated motor clubs serving more than 62 million members offering AAA membership, travel and insurance products and services. By comparison, ACE operates in 21 states and serves more than 17 million members.

As the plan administrator for ACE’s Data Incident Response Program, their responsibilities include creating the internal response plan, coordinating investigations of and responses to incidents and promoting training through tabletop exercises and presentations. These responsibilities also include legal and regulatory compliance efforts regarding data security issues.

Their Privacy responsibilities extend to everything privacy related from the many acronym laws (CCPA, DNC, TCPA, GLBA, etc.) to the development of privacy notices and compliance with new and emerging privacy issues. 

In this role, they work closely with various internal teams including Information Security, Information Technology, Big Data, Retention, Data Governance, Internal Audit and Compliance.
