About the IAPP

Michael is a data privacy, cybersecurity, and technology lawyer, specializing in global privacy and data governance issues. He is currently Data Privacy Lead Counsel at Medidata Solutions, where he manages the company’s data governance program and provides guidance on privacy laws and various regulatory regimes. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, he negotiates privacy and security terms in commercial deals and advises on privacy risk management and privacy-by-design implementation. Prior to Medidata, Michael served for several years as in-house counsel at a leading cloud automation and managed services provider that focuses on compliance in highly regulated areas.

Michael received his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School, where he was an Advanced Legal Clinician in the Brooklyn Law Incubator and Policy Clinic (BLIP). Michael holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US and CIPP/E) and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) credentials from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Cloud Practitioner. Michael is admitted to the New York State bar.
