About the IAPP

Terry Evetts is a distinguished privacy professional currently serving as the Head of Group Privacy and UK Data Protection Officer at Admiral Group Plc. In this capacity, he oversees the organization's privacy strategies and ensures compliance with data protection regulations across the Globe.  

Before joining Admiral Group, Terry dedicated eight years to Vodafone, where he initially supported the UK privacy team and later advanced to a Senior Privacy Manager role within their global operations. His tenure at Vodafone was marked by his efforts in operationalizing privacy frameworks and advising on compliance concerning emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and big data.

Terry's academic credentials include a first-class honours Bachelor of Laws degree and a Master's in Computer Science. In 2015, he was recognized as the most promising postgraduate by his university. Further solidifying his expertise, Terry has earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), and Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) designations. In 2020, he served as the Young Privacy Professional for the IAPP London Chapter. 

Beyond his professional roles, Terry contributes to the broader privacy community through publications and speaking engagements. He has authored papers on topics such as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), cloud computing, and data sharing during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2025, he is slated to speak at the IAPP Data Protection Intensive in the UK, discussing the intersection of AI and privacy governance.
