About the IAPP

Sofia Edvardsen, CIPP/E, has been a lawyer in the field of technology for more than ten years, the last four years as partner for law firm Sharp Cookie Advisors, Stockholm.

Sofia Edvardsen advises some of Europe’s leading companies in the development and adoption of global privacy strategies and was involved in the development of the Swedish adaptation of the EU data protection framework. She advises organizations to devise and implement workable strategies to legitimize global data flows — in particular with a focus on data analytics, online marketing, cloud services, and health data. She also serves as data protection officer for international clients within the field of IT infrastructure, eHealth, and digital retail.

She is an IAPP contributor and partakes in the leadership of Sweden as co-chair of the KnowledgeNet in Stockholm, Sweden.

She lectures at the University of Stockholm on IT and data protection as part of the Masters of Law program.

She regularly features as an expert in lectures and articles of IDG, Computer Sweden, IDC, IAPP, regarding legal issues of digital technology, data protection, and digital business models.
