Jadzia Pierce
Jadzia Pierce is the Data Protection Officer for Microsoft, where she oversees the implementation and maintenance of Microsoft's data protection program and serves as the main point of contact for regulators and data subjects, including with respect to privacy and AI, children's data, and data subject rights. She previously was the Director of Global Privacy Policy, where she advocated for Microsoft’s privacy policy priorities while helping business teams “see around corners” and anticipate broader legal trends on a global scale. Prior to her time at Microsoft, Ms. Pierce was the lead cybersecurity lawyer for McKinsey & Company, where she advised on emerging cybersecurity risks and mitigations while overseeing and directing the legal aspects of the firm’s incident response program.
Ms. Pierce began her legal career as an associate in Covington & Burling’s Privacy & Cybersecurity practice group, where she counselled multiple Fortune 100 clients regarding the shifting privacy legal landscape at the U.S. state, federal, and international level and assisted corporate legal, engineering, and operations teams in bringing their global privacy programs into compliance. She also served as a Privacy, Surveillance, & Security Fellow for the Centre for Democracy & Technology.
Ms. Pierce has been designated a 2024 Young Leader for the French American Foundation. She lives in London with her husband and two Labrador retrievers, Austin and Duke (her pride and joy).
