About the IAPP

Maria Chhabria is a Program Manager, Privacy and AI Regulatory Governance, in the Office of Privacy and Responsible Technology at IBM. She analyses current and emerging AI and privacy laws, advises IBM’s business units on data privacy and AI regulatory compliance, conducts privacy impact assessments, and develops policies and procedures to implement privacy requirements and best practices. Maria is a member of the Exam Development Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and holds the following IAPP certifications: Certified Information Privacy Professional-Europe, Certified Information Privacy Professional-United States , Certified Information Privacy Manager, Fellow of Information Privacy, AI Governance Professional . Maria holds an LLM from The George Washington University Law School and a law degree from the Università degli studi di Napoli Federico II in Naples, Italy. She is admitted to practice law in Italy and in the United States.
