About the IAPP

Hershel Eisenberger is an experienced policy and data privacy leader with deep knowledge of global privacy laws, issues, and trends.

Hershel is currently the Director of Privacy for Rivian, a software-defined electric vehicle company. At Rivian, he co-leads Rivian’s global privacy program and is responsible for setting Rivian’s strategic approach to data privacy and ensuring that products are built with privacy in mind. Prior to his current role, Hershel was at Facebook, where he led a team responsible for privacy incidents and data sharing with third parties. Before that, Hershel held various roles in tech and government, where he worked on novel and complex issues the intersection of law and public policy.

Hershel is based in Washington, DC. He has a J.D. from Harvard Law School, a B.A. in Political Science and Communications from the University of Pennsylvania and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional-US. In his free time (such as it is), Hershel loves to go on hikes with his dog, cook with his son, and mentor aspiring policy and privacy professionals.
