Kyle D. Black, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM

Kyle Black is an associate at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, and is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group and Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Practice Group. He primarily focuses his practice on data privacy and cybersecurity. As a certified information privacy professional of U.S. privacy laws (CIPP/US) and European privacy laws (CIPP/E) and as a certified information privacy manager (CIPM), Kyle counsels clients on various data privacy matters, including developing privacy compliance programs, drafting privacy policies, preparing written information security plans and incident response plans, and assisting in the response to data breaches and other data security incidents.

Kyle also represents clients in a variety of complex commercial litigation disputes, including insurance coverage disputes, construction-related litigation, and class action litigation.

Kyle has written several articles and presented at a number of conferences particularly discussing biometric and genetic privacy, the California Consumer Privacy Act, the GDPR, and cyber insurance coverage. He is Vice Chair of the ABA TIPS Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee and co-chairs its Publications Subcommittee. Kyle has been recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America® in commercial litigation in 2020, 2021 and 2022. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Pennsylvania and Eastern District of Michigan.
