Gretchen Tucker
Gretchen Tucker is the Chief Risk Officer at BeesMont Law Limited, a boutique commercial law firm in Hamilton, Bermuda. She shares joint responsibility for Corporate Strategy with the Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer of the firm and is also responsible for the supervision of the Group Privacy Officer in connection with the development of the firm’s privacy programme and various compliance initiatives.
She further is employed by the firm as Counsel, Head of Regulatory & Governance. As a London-trained barrister, her practice focuses on regulatory compliance, administrative decision-making, statutory interpretation, policy development and legal reform which extends to advice on privacy, access to information as well as the use of employee and children’s data and health sector information. She also supports clients and their interactions with Bermuda Government watchdogs and regulators.
Since her return to Bermuda in 2012, Gretchen has sought to continually deepened her ties to the local community, completing terms of service as a Council Member on the Smiths Parish Council (community board) and the Architects Registration Council (regulatory body). In January 2019, in the absence of the appointment of the first Privacy Commissioner for Bermuda, she established a new standing sub-committee of the Bermuda Bar Council advocating for the advancement of privacy law and the appropriate regulation of the legal industry. She served as Chair and Co Chair from 2019-2024.
Gretchen is now an aspiring Board Member, looking for opportunities to serve on commercial and non-profit organisations alike. She is registered with the Institute of Directors (IoD) to pursue a certification in professional board leadership and continues to support the development of privacy careers in Bermuda as well as participate in various privacy forums and good governance initiatives.
