About the IAPP

Cécile Martin is a managing partner of Ogletree Deakins.

For more than 20 years, she has developed extensive experience in the social management of restructurings, both advisory and litigation, the management of senior executives, the implementation of compensation policies (including for material risk takers), and discrimination and harassment litigation.

She also has recognized industry expertise in all aspects of data protection and compliance, particularly in the management of employees' personal data, cyber-surveillance, ethical alerts and the implementation of new technologies (AI).

Having started her career at France's data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, Martin is closely involved with major companies in their efforts to comply with all legislation relating to personal data and its social aspects. She is also a member of the IAPP DPO France Skills Certification Committee, a former KnowledgeNet France Chapter member and a member of the European Advisory Committee. She is a regular contributor to French and international legal journals.

Martin is recognized every year in the most prestigious international rankings: Chambers Europe, Legal 500 EMEA, where she is listed as a "Recommended Lawyer," as well as Best Lawyers in the category "Labor & Employment Law" in France. Martin was named "Lawyer of the Year" for France in the Labor & Employment Law category by Lawyer Monthly Legal, which recognizes the world's top lawyers.
