Amaka is an experienced cybersecurity and privacy engineer who architects and engineers’ privacy programs and controls with a focus on AI governance. She is a Privacy Engineer with Cruise LLC. Cruise is an international autonomous vehicle company.

Prior to Cruise, Amaka spent about 5 years in Microsoft Research and Incubations organization at Microsoft where she focused on next generation innovative solutions embedding privacy practices into strategy, partnership, and research initiatives. She was one of the founding members of Global Health Access with responsibility to deploy AI/ML models in Low- or Medium-Income Countries (LMIC) to address health equity.

Her extensive experience spans from the United Kingdom, United States and Nigeria. She has had a stint in consulting at Deloitte where she was part of the technology audit team conducting financial audit and vulnerability assessment and penetration test for top Africa Banks to ensure robust infrastructure and controls to serve their respective customers. Amaka was the first IT Enterprise Security Lead at United Bank for Africa (UBA) focusing on events and vulnerability management. In this role she improved the Bank’s IT internal control by mitigating 85% of existing open issues in the first 100 days and designed project plans to address the remainder.

She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the International Information.

Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2), the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), Institute of Operational Design (IOPD), and AI Incubator. She is also a member of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) where she volunteered in 2020 on the Digital Skill Thematic Group. With a strong compliance background in cybersecurity, privacy and AI governance, she leverages her expertise, experience and passion in a way that is laser focused on impact for the organization, stakeholders, and customers.
