Liz Lyons, CIPP/G
Liz currently works for HP, Inc as privacy counsel. She focuses on compliance with international and U.S. state laws as well as AI and incident response. Prior to HP, Liz worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, a global consulting and technology company as Privacy Counsel. Previously, Liz served as the privacy officer for the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in Washington, DC where she focused on technology for law enforcement such as body cameras and CCTV. Liz was the first privacy officer in the nation to work for a police department. Prior to working for the MPD, Liz worked at the Department of Homeland Security in the compliance and technology groups. Liz was a subject matter expert on privacy issues involving cloud computing and cybersecurity. Liz also served in the Peace Corps in Lithuania and obtained her B.A. from Georgetown University and her J.D. from the University of San Francisco, School of Law, she is a member of the Washington, D.C. and California Bar.
