About the IAPP

Funke is a seasoned cybersecurity and privacy specialist. She holds the position of a Senior Associate at PwC Canada, where she provides data privacy and protection services to her clients.

Her career in IT, began when she managed application services and upgrades with one of the largest financial institutions in Nigeria. Following this experience, she discovered her passion for cyber security and the need for it on a global scale. She decided to pursue a Masters in Information Systems Security.

Over the years, she has helped provide individuals and organizations with data privacy & protection solutions, privacy management, developed overall data governance, strategy and operations for clients on a large scale.

Funke is also passionate about giving back to the community, especially around encouraging women and girls to pursue STEM and IT careers.

Outside of work, she spends time planning social events, travelling and volunteering. She has facilitated a couple of events such as SheHacks (hackathon event for female undergraduates) and breakout sessions for tech events; and spoken on panels around diversity in cybersecurity).

When Funke is not doing anything technical or travelling, she enjoys having brunch, dessert, or a good nap.

Funke is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in Canada (CIPP/C) and a Certified information Privacy Manager (CIPM)
