About the IAPP

Jeremy Rucker is an attorney in the Plano, Texas office of Spencer Fane LLP. He leads organizations through the constantly evolving and complex landscape of data privacy, security, and incident response. His law practice involves handling all aspects of privacy counseling, data strategy, incident response, regulatory investigations, and transactions.

Additionally, Jeremy regularly serves clients in the role of breach coach, leading organizations through national data breach notification processes and regulator investigations.

Jeremy’s data strategy expertise involves developing privacy programs compliant with state, federal, and international laws and regulations.

When cybersecurity incidents inevitably occur, Jeremy draws from his experience managing hundreds of emergency breach response efforts to help organizations fulfill all legal requirements.

As part of a collaborative approach to legal services at Spencer Fane, Jeremy also serves as a key resource in transactional matters.

Jeremy is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as a Privacy Law Specialist. Additionally, Jeremy holds certifications as a Certified Information Privacy Professional for United States law (CIPP/US) and European law (CIPP/E); and as a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM – IAPP). He also maintains a commitment to analyzing and understanding emerging federal, state, and international data laws and regulations.
