About the IAPP

Dr. Zhaofeng Zhou is Managing Partner of Fieldfisher China which is part of the Fieldfisher global network. He has over 14 years’ experience in advising both Chinese and international companies on competition law, cyber security and data protection law, and general compliance. Zhaofeng is a qualified PRC lawyer and based in Beijing.

Zhaofeng actively participates and is frequently invited to speak at privacy and data protection related events in China. He has advised both Chinese and international companies on their compliance of Chinese cyber security and data protection laws, which involves many industries, such as aviation, automotive, gaming, insurance, internet industry, technology, and telecommunications. In particular, he has continuously advised all the major Chinese airlines on Chinese, UK and EU data protection and privacy law for the past four years. His data protection and privacy work include but not limited helping clients to establish data protection and privacy compliance policies, negotiating, and amending data protection related contracts, conducting data protection and privacy audits, assisting clients to respond data subjects’ requests, and dealing with data breach.

Zhaofeng earned his PhD degree in competition law at the University of Glasgow in 2008 and LLM degree in international law at the University of Bristol in 2003.
