Drawing upon a 16-year career in cybersecurity through roles in digital forensics and incident response, cyber governance and academia, Andrew Carr is a Senior Director of Business Development for Booz Allen’s Commercial Incident Response team. In his role, Andrew partners with law firms, cyber insurance carriers, and private sector organizations to effectively prepare for, prevent, investigate, contain, and remediate malicious activity across a broad range of industry verticals including healthcare, financial services, technology, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, oil and gas, transportation and many more. Andrew most recently held the position of Director of Cybersecurity Graduate programs and Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity at Utica University (NSA Center of Academic Excellence). In his role, Andrew designed and oversaw the modernization and redevelopment of the cybersecurity programs to better align with industry needs, leading to multiple consecutive top 15 Fortune rankings, while simultaneously responsible for development and instruction of undergraduate and graduate level digital forensics and incident response courses and industry partnerships. Having frequently served as an expert witness on digital forensics and incident response, Andrew provided expert analysis, reporting, and testimony in multiple high-profile homicide investigations, civil litigation, and corporate mergers and acquisitions.

His career as a practitioner has spanned across a continuum of public and private sector organizations, spending several years in a supervisory role, leading high-performing teams involved in the demanding field of incident response, co-founding the ransomware negotiations capability which is now known as Booz Allen’s Threat Actor Communications and Intelligence team. Prior to his time in the private sector, Andrew spent eight years as a senior digital forensic examiner at an ASCLD/LAB accredited regional crime laboratory, while simultaneously volunteering his time as a Forensic ISO/IEC 17025 Assessor and member of the New York State Technical Working Group on Digital and Multimedia Evidence. Andrew’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity Information Assurance from Utica University and a Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity Intelligence and Forensics from Utica University. He has received extensive digital forensics and incident response training and currently holds GCIH and CTCE certifications. Andrew is also currently a member of the High Technology Crime Investigation Association.
