Nasrin Rezai
Nasrin Rezai is senior vice president and chief information security officer at Verizon. She is responsible for cyber security protection for the company’s network that serves over 90 million consumers and top 500 enterprise customers. In this role Nasrin advises the business in functions such as product, customer protection, enterprise risk management, mergers/ acquisition & divestiture and large-scale business transformation. In her current role, Nasrin also has commercial security responsibility in support of Verizon’s government and state/local customers.
Prior to joining Verizon, Nasrin held the position of global chief information security officer at General Electric. She has also held role as SVP, chief technology risk officer at State Street Bank and CTO of security at Cisco Systems. Her 25-year career includes global strategic leadership in technology, cyber security and risk advisory. Nasrin’s experience spans multiple industry sectors (Technology, Financial, Industrial, Telecom). In those roles, she has run resilient, mission critical operation in highly sensitive industries such as aviation, financial, defense and customer networks
Nasrin has held board membership at Infoblox, market leader in next level networking, secure DNS Cloud. In that capacity, she served on the product and technology sub-committees
Nasrin regularly advises technology start-ups. She is the judge for the Innovation Sandbox at RSA, the largest global cyber security conference. She has chaired industry forums on technology management, cyber security and governance including FCC’s CSRIC VIII group (communication, security, reliability, interoperability 2021/2023). Nasrin is an active member of Aspen institute cyber security group. She does Podcasts, and is a co-author of a handbook on cyber risk oversight published by NACD.
Nasrin holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in information systems. She has an executive certification from Harvard and Cambridge. She lives in New York City.
