Helen Graham

Helen is a senior legal and regulatory leader with over 25 years of international experience in privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. She is the former Group Chief Privacy Officer at Shell where she oversaw global compliance and statutory DPO responsibilities, and led legal teams advising on AI, cyber, and privacy across the company’s worldwide operations.
Before her corporate career, Helen served as a UN prosecutor and liaison in Kosovo, supporting post-conflict governance, sensitive investigations, and the rule of law. Today, she runs her own boutique consultancy, The Art of Privacy, advising organizations on navigating complex regulatory landscapes while fostering ethical innovation.
Recognized globally as a thought leader in privacy and cybersecurity, Helen serves on the IAPP EU Advisory Board and the UK AI Legal Working Group. She is known for building trust with governments, regulators, and stakeholders, and for balancing compliance demands with forward-looking innovation.
