About the IAPP

Mustafa Isik is Chief Technologist for Sovereignty at AWS. He supports customers worldwide across all areas of the public sector, regulated industries, and small, medium-sized, and global companies on strategic IT challenges, cybersecurity, and digital sovereignty. He particularly assists customers in highly regulated industries, government organizations, and decision-makers in improving their IT security, data protection, and digital sovereignty through the use of AWS technologies.

Mustafa ensures that the voice of our customers and their regulatory authorities is heard and contributes to the continuous development of services, technologies, validations, and certifications that enable our customers to leverage the scalability and performance of the AWS cloud.

As a computer scientist with an M.S. degree from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), he brings extensive experience in the technology industry. Before joining AWS, he worked for search engine companies in California and, as a multi-year head of software development and platforms, led the digital transformation at Bavarian Broadcasting (BR) and numerous ARD joint products (including BR24, Mediathek, ARD Audiothek). In this role, he pioneered the use of cloud computing for production systems within ARD, Germany's largest public broadcasting network.
