About the IAPP

Dr. Ignasi Belda is the Director General of the Spanish Agency for the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence (AESIA). He is a computer scientist and holds two doctorate degrees, one in Applied Artificial Intelligence and a second in Science and Technology Law. Dr. Belda is a professional in the field of artificial intelligence who has received multiple awards for his management and promotion of innovation, including the Princess of Girona 2014 Award. He has founded six international companies in the field of AI. In parallel to these entrepreneurial activities, Dr. Belda has been trained in business administration, finances, economy, accountability and taxation. During two years he managed, as a CEO, the Barcelona Science Park, a medium sized public company of 18 million euros of revenue and 110 employees.
