About the IAPP

Jade is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Member Arbitrator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Kenya and the United Kingdom). She is the Legal and Advocacy Director of Data Analytics Kenya, a Steering Committee Member of the Data Privacy and Governance Society of Kenya, and a Data Protection/Privacy Expert at PwC (on sabbatical). She is also a former Associate with Anjarwalla & Khanna LLP, the largest corporate and commercial law firm in East and Central Africa, and former Coordinator of the Microsoft Policy Innovation Center, Kenya. With over six years of expertise in data protection/privacy advisory and audit; cybersecurity advisory; information technology (IT); and intellectual property (IP), Jade has established herself as a leading authority in these fields. In addition to her IAPP certifications (FIP, CIPP/E, CIPM, and CIPT), Jade has also completed a United States privacy course, Data Privacy and Technology, with Harvard Online. She is an active member of the Internet Society and has held various roles with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), including NextGen, NextGen Ambassador, Fellow, and Returning Fellow. Furthermore, she served as a Youth Ambassador with the Global Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and has served as a member of the Steering Committee of the Kenya School of Internet Governance. Currently pursuing her Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Stanford Law School in the Law, Science and Technology Program, Jade brings a unique blend of legal acumen and technological insight. She has advised a diverse range of clients, including Fortune 500 and Fortune Global 500 companies (and their subsidiaries), financial institutions, and government entities on complex legal, regulatory, risk, and strategy matters related to data protection/privacy, cybersecurity, IT, IP, and corporate law. Her extensive experience and qualifications (with her LL.M., the IAPP (FIP, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT), ICANN and IGF) make her a compelling voice in the legal and technology sectors.
