Robert Noonan has been a key leader at the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) for 18 years, overseeing critical operations in information technology, IT security, public safety, and emergency preparedness across five MCCA campuses. His leadership has been instrumental in developing and implementing comprehensive security and technology programs that ensure the safety of both MCCA facilities and the thousands of attendees they welcome each year.

Robert worked closely with the Department of Homeland Security to secure Safety Act Designation for the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC), making it the first convention center in the U.S. to receive this prestigious recognition for its industry-leading security measures.

A recognized expert in cybersecurity, Robert has established a sophisticated program focusing on training, policy development, monitoring, and rapid response. His efforts have not only protected MCCA’s data but also safeguarded clients and visitors. His expertise extends beyond the MCCA, as he serves on the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Large Venue Security Task Force, where he provides cybersecurity guidance for large venues across the state.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Robert and his teams played a pivotal role in transforming the BCEC into the Boston Hope Field Hospital and the Hynes Convention Center into a mass vaccination site, demonstrating their ability to adapt to critical challenges. Through his commitment to innovation, collaboration, and security, Robert ensures that MCCA continues to set the standard for world-class event hosting, reinforcing Boston’s reputation as a premier destination.
