About the IAPP

Shahzeb Jiwani is currently a Risk Management and Cybersecurity Lead at Anthropic, a public benefit corporation focused on building industry-leading large language models and driving responsible AI Governance/Policy. He has worked in the last 12 years at global consulting firms and technology startups building cybersecurity programs to protect businesses, government organizations, and nonprofits.

Before joining Anthropic, Shahzeb was the Head of Security and Compliance at Dialpad with a focus on product security, security operations, initiatives associated with GDPR, SOC2, and other information security/privacy frameworks. Prior to Dialpad, Shahzeb was involved with governance, risk and compliance at Nuna Health. Within this capacity Shahzeb worked with HHS to ensure Nuna’s products and services met Acceptable Risk Safeguards, as well as their commercial products met industry information security standards.

Shahzeb started his career consulting within Deloitte’s Cyber Risk Services and Advisory practices which involved working with large-scale enterprises to deploy information security systems and public company information technology audits. Shahzeb is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Masters in Information Systems and a Bachelors in Accounting. He has held a CISSP and CPA designation.
